Arrival & Gateway to the High Atlas Arrive at the joining hotel in Marrakech by 14:30 for a brief safety and welcome meeting with your expedition leader. Shortly after, we board our private vehicle and ascend the winding roads of the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass. Arrive in the evening at the historic gateway city of Ouarzazate for a welcome group dinner and an overnight stay at our traditional Moroccan riad.

Hollywood of Morocco & Into the Sands Before leaving Ouarzazate, we tour the iconic Atlas Film Studios, where cinematic masterpieces like Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven were filmed. Next, we journey through the lush Draa Valley, stopping at Zagora before reaching the remote outpost of M’hamid. From here, our desert trek begins. We trade our vehicles for a scenic 2-hour walk or camel trek into the Sahara, arriving at our Erg Lihoudi desert camp just as the sun slips below the horizon. Enjoy a traditional glass of mint tea and a fireside Berber dinner under the stars.

Deep Sahara Exploration by Camel & 4×4 Wake up early to witness a breathtaking Saharan sunrise over the dunes. After a hearty camp breakfast, embark on the second leg of our desert journey. In the afternoon, we step into modern exploration and board 4×4 vehicles to traverse the rugged terrain toward the remote Oasis of Bertam. Catch another spectacular sunset over the isolated dunes before enjoying a night of traditional music and storytelling around the campfire.

Oasis Palms & Ancient Kasbahs After a final desert sunrise and breakfast, we exit the deep dunes via 4×4 and head back to Zagora, where you will have free time to shower, freshen up, and unwind by a hotel swimming pool. Following lunch, our journey continues into the lush palm groves of Skoura. Explore this legendary oasis city, famed for its ancient mud-brick architecture and sprawling date palms. Gather for a final celebratory group dinner in a beautiful local kasbah.

Return via Ait Ben Haddou Following breakfast, we begin our return journey toward Marrakech. En route, we stop to explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most famous and beautifully preserved fortified clay villages in Morocco. We traverse back over the Atlas Mountains, arriving directly at Marrakech Menara Airport at approximately 13:00, or at our central hotel drop-off point for those extending their stay.
