Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Casablanca – Welcome to Morocco

Welcome to Morocco! Your 7-Day Morocco Kasbahs, Desert & Imperial Cities Tour begins with a warm welcome at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport, where your driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel ( only if you booked the transfer). Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to relax after your flight or explore a little of Casablanca, Morocco’s modern economic capital. In the evening, at 6:00 PM, you’ll meet your tour leader for a welcome meeting, where you’ll receive an introduction to your journey, learn more about the places you’ll visit, and have the opportunity to ask any questions before your Moroccan adventure begins

Day 2Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast, depart Casablanca and travel towards Fes, passing through the beautiful Moroccan countryside. Along the way, visit the impressive Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its well-preserved mosaics and ancient Roman architecture.

Continue to the Imperial City of Meknes, where you’ll enjoy a short stop to admire the famous Bab Mansour Gate and El Hedim Square before continuing to Fes.

Arrive in Fes in the late afternoon, check into your Hotel, and enjoy a relaxing evening before tomorrow’s guided tour of Morocco’s cultural and spiritual capital.

Day 3Explore the Imperial City of Fes

Today you’ll discover why Fes is considered Morocco’s cultural and spiritual capital. Accompanied by an experienced local guide, explore the fascinating UNESCO-listed Medina of Fes, one of the world’s largest and best-preserved medieval cities. Wander through narrow alleyways lined with colorful souks, artisan workshops, and historic monuments while visiting famous landmarks such as Al Quaraouiyine University, the world’s oldest continuously operating university, the magnificent Bou Inania Madrasa, the iconic Chouara Tanneries, and the beautiful Nejjarine Fountain. Throughout the day, you’ll experience the authentic atmosphere of one of Morocco’s most remarkable cities before returning to your riad.

Day 4Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Sahara Desert

Leave Fes after breakfast and travel through the spectacular landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco” because of its European-style architecture and mountain setting. Continue through the Cedar Forest of Azrou, where Barbary macaques live freely among the ancient cedar trees. As you head south, pass through Midelt before following the breathtaking Ziz Valley, one of Morocco’s largest palm oases. By late afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi Sahara Desert. Here, your unforgettable desert adventure begins with a camel trek across the golden sand dunes at sunset. At your luxury Sahara Desert camp, enjoy traditional Moroccan cuisine, Berber music around the campfire, and an unforgettable evening beneath one of Africa’s clearest star-filled skies

Day 5Merzouga Desert – Rissani – Todra Gorge

Wake early to witness the magical sunrise over the Sahara Desert, one of the highlights of any Morocco desert tour. After breakfast, return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4 before continuing your journey through southern Morocco. Pass through the historic town of Rissani, once an important trading centre for trans-Saharan caravans, before arriving at the spectacular Todra Gorge. Towering limestone cliffs, reaching over 300 metres in height, make Todra Gorge one of Morocco’s most impressive natural attractions and a world-famous destination for hiking and rock climbing. Enjoy time to walk through the canyon, admire the dramatic scenery, and experience the peaceful atmosphere before settling into your hotel.

Day 6Todra Gorge – Dades Valley – Valley of Roses – Skoura Oasis – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou

Today’s journey follows the legendary Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, one of Morocco’s most scenic driving routes. Travel through the spectacular Dades Valley, famous for its dramatic rock formations and traditional Berber villages, before continuing into the beautiful Valley of Roses, where fragrant Damascus roses are cultivated each spring. Drive through the lush Skoura Oasis, home to thousands of palm trees and historic kasbahs, before reaching Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara” and Morocco’s famous film city. In the afternoon, visit the magnificent Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most iconic landmarks. Explore its ancient earthen architecture and winding alleyways while discovering why it has appeared in international films and television series including Gladiator, Game of Thrones, Lawrence of Arabia, and The Mummy.

Day 7Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

After breakfast, enjoy one final look at the impressive Kasbah before beginning your scenic drive towards Marrakech. Cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the highest mountain pass in Morocco, offering breathtaking panoramic views of rugged peaks, traditional Berber villages, and beautiful valleys. Along the way, there will be opportunities to stop for photographs and short breaks before descending into the vibrant Red City of Marrakech.
